ROUND STEAK SAUERBRATEN 
1 1/2 lb. round steak, cut in 1" squares
Shortening
2 c. water
1 env. brown gravy mix
1/2 c. chopped onion
1 tbsp. brown sugar
2 tbsp. wine vinegar
4 oz. can mushrooms, drained
1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
1/4 tsp. ground ginger
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1 bay leaf

Cut meat into 1" squares and brown in shortening. Remove meat from pan. Mix water and gravy in pan. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Stir in rest of ingredients. Add meat, turn into 1 1/2 quart casserole, cover and bake at 350 degrees for 1 1/2 hours. Remove bay leaf. Serve on hot buttered noodles. Makes 4 servings.
