EMMA'S APPLE CRISP 
I like to serve warm with ice cream. Also good cold.

3 lb. apples (about 10 to 12 apples)
lemon juice
1 tbsp. cornstarch
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
1/8 tsp. nutmeg

Preheat oven to 400°F.

Slice apples and toss with lemon juice. Mix cornstarch, sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg with apples. Put in 1 1/2-quart baking dish.

CRUMB TOPPING:

1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup brown sugar
6 tbsp. butter

Mix flour, sugar and butter together until crumbly; spread over apples.

Bake at 400°F for 45 minutes.
