Best with spinach, Romaine, or other very crisp greens

1 c. sour cream or plain yogurt
1 sm. onion, finely chopped or grated
1 tsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
2 tbsp. white wine
1 tbsp. wine vinegar
2 tbsp. fresh bacon drippings (optional)
6 slices bacon, cooked crisp and drained

Mix well all ingredients and allow to stand for several hours. Fry bacon crisp. Drain and reserve drippings, using 2 tablespoons to add to dressing just before pouring over crisp greens. Crumble bacon over top of salad after tossing with dressing.
