APPLE - NUT BREAD 
1/2 c. pecan halves
1 lg. apple, peeled & cored
2/3 c. shortening
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. brown sugar, firmly packed
2 eggs
2 c. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 c. orange juice
1/2 c. raisins

Position knife blade in food processor bowl. Add pecans; top with cover, and pulse 6 times or until coarsely chopped. Remove pecans and set aside. Cut apple into 8 pieces and add to processor bowl. Pulse until coarsely chopped. Remove apple, set aside. Combine shortening, sugar and eggs in food processor bowl, process about 10 seconds. Add remaining ingredients except raisins, and pulse 5 or 6 times, just until moistened. Add pecans, apple and raisins; process about 10 seconds. Pour mixture into a greased and floured 8 1/2 x 4 1/2 x 3 inch loaf pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 55 to 60 minutes or until wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. Let cool in pan 10 minutes. Yield: 1 loaf.
