BAKED CINNAMON APPLES 
6 apples (hard apples bakes longer)
1 sm. container red cinnamon candies
Butter
2 tbsp. cornstarch
Sugar (6 tsp. for apples & 1/2 c. for sauce)
1 1/2 c. water
1/4 c. chopped nuts (only for dessert put on apples after baking)

Cut apples in half and remove core also cut 1/4 inch of skin along cut edge. This avoids apples shrinking. Place apples core side up in shallow pan. Put 1 teaspoon sugar, dab of butter and several candies in each core of apple.

Mix water, cornstarch and sugar. Pour into bottom of pan along with more candies (I use about 3/4 of the container for sauce and apples). Bake at 350 degrees for 1/2 to 3/4 hour until apples are soft. Serve room temperature with meat. Serve warm with sauce and whip cream for dessert. Note: Baste with sauce half way through baking time.
