GINGERBREAD COOKIES 
1 c. butter
1 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1 egg
1 c. molasses
2 tbsp. vinegar
5 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tbsp. ginger
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. allspice
1 tsp. nutmeg

Cream butter. Add sugar and salt; mix. Add egg; beat well. Add molasses and vinegar; mix well. Sift flour and spice together. Add gradually to cream mixture. Roll out 1/4 inch thick on floured wax paper. Cut out cookies. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Bake 10-12 minutes on sheet of waxed paper to prevent sticking.
