GINGERBREAD COOKIES 
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. dark brown molasses
1/2 c. butter, softened
1 lg. egg
2 1/2 c. whole wheat flour
1 1/2 tsp. ground ginger
1 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp. ground cloves
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
Raisins for decorating

In a large bowl beat first 4 ingredients until fluffy. Stir in next 6 ingredients until smooth. Wrap - refrigerate 30 minutes. Heat oven to 350 degrees. Roll out dough 1/8 inch thick. With cookie cutters, cut cookies into shapes. Reroll and cut more. Decorate with raisins if desired. Bake 12-15 minutes until centers are firm and edges have started to brown. Cool and enjoy.
