MERINGUE COOKIES 
3 egg whites
1 c. sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla

Combine above in double boiler; put over boiling water and beat until stiff peaks form. Immediately add the following: 3/4 cup chopped walnuts and 3/4 cup chopped dates.

Drop by large teaspoonfuls on lightly greased cookie sheets. Bake just 1 sheet at a time 12-15 minutes or until lightly browned.
