2 c. flour
2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 1/3 c. sugar
3/4 tsp. salt
1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. Crisco
2/3 c. milk
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
2 eggs
1/4 c. milk

Sift together the flour, baking powder, sugar and salt and set aside. Cream together the butter, Crisco, 2/3 cup milk and vanilla extract. Mix creamed mixture and flour mixture together until creamy. Add eggs and 1/4 cup milk and mix well.

Bake 20 to 25 minutes for layers (9-inch pans) or 35 to 40 minutes for loaf pans in a 350°F oven.
