SAND TARTS 
1 c. butter
4 tbsp. powdered sugar
2 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tbsp. vanilla
1 c. finely chopped pecans

Cream butter and sugar. Sift flour and baking powder and salt. Gradually add flour mixture to creamed butter. Add vanilla and nuts. Drop in one inch balls on a greased cookie sheet, and then mash slightly flat. Bake in 375 degree oven until brown. If desired, roll in powdered sugar. Makes 5 dozen cookies.
