RAISIN LOAF 
2 c. raisins
1 c. butter
2 c. water
2 c. brown sugar

Cook raisins, butter, water and brown sugar for 3 minutes. Cool.

1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. baking soda
3 tbsp. water, hot
1 tsp. cinnamon
4 c. flour

Sift dry ingredients together. Add to raisin mixture. Then add dissolved baking soda in 3 tablespoons water to above.

Greased and paper (grease this, too) 2 loaf pans. Bake at 325 degrees about 55 minutes or until tester is clean.
