FREEZER PICKLES | |
2 qt. cucumbers, sliced thin 2 med. onions, sliced thin 1/2 tsp. mustard seed 2 tbsp. salt 2 c. sugar 1/2 tsp. celery seed 3/4 c. vinegar Mix cucumbers, onions and salt; let stand for 2 hours. You can cover with a thin layer of ice to cut down the salty taste. Boil sugar, vinegar and spices until sugar is melted. Remove from heat and cool in refrigerator. Drain cucumbers and squeeze out water. Pack in freezer container and pour cold vinegar mixture over cucumbers. Cover and freeze. |
