SPANISH COFFEE BREAD | |
Mix well with spoon: 2 1/2 c. flour, unsifted 1/2 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. cinnamon 1/2 c. brown sugar 3/4 c. white sugar 3/4 c. Wesson oil Reserve 1/2 cup of this mixture for topping. To the rest add: 1 tsp. baking powder 1 tsp. baking soda 1 egg 1 c. buttermilk or sour milk Beat 4 minutes with mixer. Divide into 2 loaves in greased bread pans. Sprinkle 1/4 cup reserved crumbs on each loaf. Press lightly into dough. Bake at 350 degrees for 40 to 45 minutes. Cool for 10 minutes before removing from pans. I used two foil pans 7 7/8 x 3 7/8 x 2 1/2 inches. |
