CROCKPOT BEEF STEW 
3 carrots, cut up
3 potatoes, cut up
2 lb. beef chuck or stew meat, cut in 1 1/2 cubes
1 c. water or beef stock
1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
1 clove garlic
1 bay leaf
1 tbsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper
1 tsp. paprika
3 onions, quartered
1 stalk celery with tops, cut up

Put all ingredients in cooker in order listed. Stir just enough to mix spices. Cover and sit to low for 10-12 minutes. High 5-6 hours. More water or beef stock may be added.

A good basic and easy recipe to follow. Halfway through a throw a package of sliced baby portabellas or regular mushrooms. Really good on a cold day!

I make this every year with the portabella mushrooms. Recently, I added a packet of French onion soup mix. Home run. The only thing I would do different next time is sift out the dehydrated onion from the soup mix.
