VIRGINIA'S DOUGHNUTS 
2 eggs, beaten light
2 c. sugar
3 level tbsp. melted butter
1 c. sour milk
4 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. salt

Mix in order, sift dry ingredients together, add to liquid mixture. Flour for handling and board well floured, the fat for frying heating; roll out only a little at a time, cut into rings with open cutter. Do all the cutting before frying as that will take your entire attention. The fat should be hot enough for the dough to rise to the top instantly.
