PURPLE PLUM COFFEE CAKE 
1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
8 to 10 purple plums, sliced

TOPPING:

1/2 c. sugar
2 tsp. cinnamon
2 tbsp. melted butter

Cream butter. Add sugar and cream until fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time. Beat well after each addition. Sift flour, baking powder, and salt; beat into creamed mixture. Spread into greased 8 x 8 inch pan. Cover batter with sliced plums, pressing into batter. Mix sugar and cinnamon. Sprinkle over plum slices. Drizzle melted butter over topping. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 to 35 minutes. Serve warm for best flavor.
