CHERRY - PECAN BREAD 
1/2 c. butter
3/4 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. buttermilk
1 c. chopped pecans
1 (10 oz.) jar maraschino cherries, drained & chopped (1 c.)

Cream butter and sugar until light. Beat in eggs and vanilla. Stir together flour, soda and salt; add alternately with buttermilk to creamed mixture, mixing well. Fold in nuts and cherries. Turn into greased 9 x 5 x 3 inch loaf pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 55 to 60 minutes. Cool in pan 10 minutes; remove from pan. Cool.
