PECAN PIE SURPRISE BARS 
1 box Pillsbury yellow cake mix
1/2 c. butter
1 egg
2 c. chopped pecans

FILLING INGREDIENTS:

2/3 c. reserved cake mix
1/2 c. firmly packed brown sugar
1 1/2 c. dark corn syrup (Karo)
1 tsp. vanilla
3 eggs

Grease bottom side of a 13 x 9 inch baking pan. Reserve 2/3 cup dry cake mix for filling. In a large mixing bowl, combine remaining cake mix, butter and 1 egg. Mix until crumbly. Press in prepared pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 to 20 minutes until light golden brown.

Meanwhile prepare filling. In large mixer bowl, combine all filling ingredients. Beat at medium speed 1 to 2 minutes.

Pour filling over partially baked crust. Sprinkle with pecans. Return to oven (375 degrees). Bake 30 to 35 minutes until filling is set. Cool. Cut into 36 bars. Bake at 375 degrees after adding filling.
