ROCKY ROAD FROSTING 
1 chocolate cake in oblong pan or a pan of brownies
1 pkg. sm. marshmallows
2 squares chocolate or 2 tbsp. cocoa
1 1/2 c. sugar
7 tbsp. milk
2 tbsp. shortening
2 tbsp. butter
1 tbsp. corn syrup
1/8 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla

Make your favorite chocolate cake or brownies; when you take them from the oven, cover with marshmallows. The marshmallows will not melt but will stick to the cake. Let the cake cool. Make the fudge frosting by combining chocolate, sugar, milk, shortening, butter, syrup and salt. Slowly bring the ingredients to a full boil; stirring constantly, boil for 1 minute. Remove from heat and add vanilla; beat until thickened and spread on top of the marshmallows. Sprinkle 3/4 cup of nuts over frosting, if desired.
