APRICOT NUT BREAD | |
1 c. sugar 2 tbsp. shortening, soft 1 egg 3/4 c. milk 3/4 c. orange juice 4 tsp. grated orange rind 3 c. flour 3 1/2 tsp. baking powder 1 tsp. salt 1 c. finely chopped dried apricots 3/4 c. nuts, chopped Mix sugar, shortening and egg together. Stir in the milk, orange juice and orange rind. Add flour, baking powder and salt; mix well. Blend in apricots and nuts. Pour into a greased loaf pan. Let stand 20 minutes. Bake approximately 1 hour at 350 degrees. |
