Coffee cake or sponge cake Raspberry jam Sherry Fruit salad (tin) Almonds, sliced Jello & strawberry & lime Evaporated milk Whipped cream Fruit for decoration, e.g. strawberries & grapes Take an old coffee cake or sponge cake and place at the bottom of a deep round dish. Spread with raspberry jam and liberally soak with sherry. Drain a tin of fruit salad. Sprinkle sliced almonds on cake and add fruit salad. Make 2 small Jellos using evaporated milk instead of water; i.e. use 1/2 water, 1/2 milk according to Jello recipe and whip the Jello. Allow to almost set and when still uncongealed pour in layers over the mixture. Top with whipped cream. Decorate with strawberries and grapes. |
