DATE LOG CANDY 
4 c. sugar
1 tbsp. butter
1 1/2 c. milk
pinch of salt
1 box dates, chopped
1 c. coconut
1 c. chopped nuts

Combine first 5 ingredients. Cook until mixture forms a ball in cold water. Remove from stove. Add coconut and nuts. Beat until stiff. Roll in damp cloth. Allow to harden and slice in 1/4-inch rounds.
