DATE LOG CANDY 
3 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tbsp. white corn syrup
1 1/2 c. milk or light cream
1 c. pitted dates, cut
1 c. pecans

Put sugar, salt, syrup, milk in pan. Boil until it forms a soft ball when dropped in a cup of water. Then add dates and pecans. Cook some more around 3 minutes, wet dish towel, pour on towel. Roll in a log, let cool. Roll out and cut.
