1/2 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
2 1/4 c. flour
1 c. thick applesauce
1 tsp. baking soda in 1/2 c. water (warm)
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. cloves
Dash of salt
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1 c. ground or whole raisins

Cream sugar and shortening and; add applesauce and water with soda, sift all spices and flour and beat well. Add raisins. Put in greased loaf or bundt pan. May use angelfood pan. Bake 30 to 45 minutes at 350 degrees or until knife inserted comes out clean.
