TRANSPARENT PIES 
2 sticks butter
2 1/2 c. sugar
2 tbsp. all-purpose flour
2 c. Carnation cream
8 egg yolks (save the whites)
2 tsp. vanilla

Mix sugar, flour, egg yolks, butter and milk on top of stove, until thick. Add vanilla. Place in pie shells that have been baked for 10 minutes a 350 degree oven. Bake at 350 degrees until set.

Top with meringue made from 8 egg whites and 16 tablespoons of sugar, 1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar and 1 teaspoon vanilla. Place back in oven until meringue is brown. Makes 2 deep dish 8 inch pies.
