TEXAS CORNBREAD 
1 c. buttermilk
1/2 c. sweet milk
1 egg
1 tbsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 c. meal
1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
1/4 c. melted bacon grease

Pour grease in round iron skillet, get piping hot, pour half into cornbread mixture, stir in well, and then put cornbread into hot skillet. Bake at 450 degrees for 10 minutes.
