SWIRL COOKIES 
1/2 c. shortening
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. peanut butter
1 egg
1 1/4 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1 (12 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips

Cream shortening, sugars and peanut butter. Add egg and beat well. Add dry ingredients. Roll out between wax paper to 18x12 inches. Spread melted chips over dough. Roll with hands using wax paper as support to oblong roll. Chill 15 to 30 minutes until dough is firm, but chocolate is pliable. Cut into slices and place on cookie sheet. Bake at 375 degrees for about 10 minutes or until brown.
