CRESCENT COOKIES 
1/2 lb. butter
2 c. flour
2 c. chopped pecans or walnuts
5 tbsp. sugar
2 tsp. vanilla
2 tbsp. water
1/2 tsp. salt

Cream butter and add sugar vanilla and water. Sift flour and salt together and stir into mixture. Add nuts and mix thoroughly. Using portions about the size of small walnut, roll into crescent shaped cookies. Cake in oven at 325 degrees about 20 minutes. While warm, roll in confectioners' sugar.
