GREEK NUT CAKE - Karithopeta 
3/4 c. butter - 1 1/2 sticks
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 tsp. cinnamon
6 eggs
2 c. flour
6 level tsp. baking powder
3/4 c. milk
1 c. chopped walnuts

Cream butter, add sugar. Cream together. Add eggs, nuts and cinnamon, beating all the time. add milk, flour and baking powder alternately. Add vanilla. Put in greased pan. Bake at 350 for about 45 minutes. Prepare syrup.

SYRUP FOR NUT CAKE:

1 1/2 c. water
1 1/2 c. sugar

Bring to boil. Pour hot syrup over hot cake. When cool, cut in diamond shapes and allow to stand before serving.
