GONE WITH THE WIND PUDDING | |
2 eggs, separated 2 c. milk 1 c. sugar 1 pkg. Knox gelatin 1/4 c. cold water 1 tsp. vanilla 1 tsp. salt 1/2 pt. whipping cream 1 c. crushed vanilla wafers Combine egg yolks, milk, sugar and salt in a double boiler. Cook, stirring constantly, until it coats the spoon. Soften gelatin in cold water and add to the hot mixture. Set pan in a bowl filled with ice cubes and cool until almost set. Beat egg whites and whipping cream (separately) and fold them together. Fold in the custard mix and vanilla. Pour into a pan which has been sprinkled with 1/2 of the vanilla wafer crumbs. Sprinkle the remaining crumbs over the top. Chill overnight before serving. |
