ENGLISH TOFFEE 
2 c. white sugar
1 lb. pure butter
2 c. chopped nuts

Cook, stirring constantly to 308 degrees. Pour onto cookie sheet that has been buttered, spread out evenly. Melt 4 squares or 1/2 pound semi-sweet chocolate. Pour over cooked mixture - spread evenly. Sprinkle finely chopped nuts over warm chocolate. Cut into small squares while still hot. Break when cool.
