"BLUE RIBBON" CORNBREAD | |
1 c. sifted all-purpose flour 1/4 c. sugar or 4 tbsp. honey 3/4 tsp. salt 2 eggs, beaten 1/4 c. shortening 4 tsp. baking powder 1 c. yellow cornmeal 1 tsp. BLAIR butter flavoring NOTE: Omit baking powder and salt and add 1 teaspoon baking soda if self-rising cornmeal is used. Sift flour with sugar, baking powder and salt, stir in cornmeal. Add eggs, milk, Blair butter flavoring and beat just until smooth. Bake at 425 degrees for 20 to 25 minutes. |
