BLUEBERRY SQUARES 
BASE:

3 tbsp. butter
1/3 c. sugar
2 egg yolks
2/3 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 c. milk
1/4 tsp. vanilla

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease 8 inch square pan. Separate eggs. Cream butter, sugar. Beat in egg yolks. Sift dry ingredients. Gently fold milk and vanilla alternately with dry ingredients.

Bake at 350 degrees F for 18-20 minutes. Remove from heat and lower temperature to 300 degrees F.

TOPPING:

3 whites
4-6 tsp. sugar
1/4 tsp. vanilla
1 c. blueberries or partridge berries

Beat egg whites until peaked - beat in sugar GENTLY. Fold in berries. Spread over cake. Bake at 300 degrees F until slightly brown - 20 to 30 minutes.
