SALAD IN A POCKET | |
2 lg pita bread rounds 4 lettuce leaves 1 (3 oz.) pkg. thinly sliced ham 1 (3 oz.) pkg. thinly sliced turkey 4 (3/4 oz.) slices American cheese Sweet pickle slices Mayonnaise, salad dressing or prepared mustard Cut pita rounds in half. Gently open the pockets. Rinse lettuce leaves. Drain and pat dry. Spread mayonnaise, salad dressing or mustard on the inside of the four pockets. Tear the ham, turkey and cheese into bite size pieces. Place in bowl. Add pickle slices and toss to mix. Put lettuce leaf in each pocket. Stuff pockets with the sandwich filling. To make ahead, put lettuce in first then mayonnaise or butter pockets before the mayonnaise. |
