MISTY'S HAM AND CORN CHOWDER | |
Great comfort food! 1 large ham steak, cut into cubes (I trim fat too) 1 large yellow onion, diced 5 large cooking potatoes, peeled and diced 2 (15 oz. ea.) cans yellow corn, drained 1 (15 oz.) can cream style corn 1 (32 oz.) box chicken broth (about 4 cups) 2 (12 oz. ea.) cans evaporated milk salt and pepper, to taste crushed red pepper flakes (optional) Add chopped ham, onions, potatoes, corn and chicken broth to pot and boil over medium heat until potatoes are fork tender (not mushy) and onions are transparent. Turn burner to low and add evaporated milk. Cook for about 5 to 10 minutes more until flavor of the milk sets in. Season with salt and pepper to taste and dig in. Sometimes I add red pepper flakes for a little kick! Submitted by: Misty |
