BROWN SUGAR ALMOND BARS 
1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. powdered sugar
1 c. flour
3 tbsp. butter
1/2 c. brown sugar, packed
3/4 tsp. lemon juice
3/4 c. sliced almonds
3/4 tsp. vanilla

Cream butter and powdered sugar. Then add flour; mix well. Pat into ungreased 9 x 9 x 2 inch pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 12 minutes.

Melt butter in saucepan. Add brown sugar and 1 tablespoon water and lemon juice. Bring to boil, stirring constantly. Remove from heat. Stir in almonds and vanilla. Spread over crust. Bake 15-20 minutes more. Cool - cut while slightly warm.
