1/3 c. shortening 1 c. sugar 1 egg, well beaten 2 tsp. vanilla 1/4 c. milk 2 c. plain flour 2 tsp. baking powder 1/2 tsp. salt Cream shortening and sugar. Add egg. Sift together flour, baking powder and salt. Mix vanilla and milk. Beginning with flour add the milk and flour to the other mixture, kneading very well. Good to chill a few hours or overnight. Roll thin. Cut with biscuit cutter. Bake in oven for 5-8 minutes at 425 degrees. Makes about 50 wafers. |
