SLOPPY JOES ON CORNBREAD 
1 lb. ground beef
1/2 c. chopped onion
1/2 c. green peppers
1/2 c. celery
1 grated carrot
1 can tomato puree (if sweetness is desired use ketchup)
1/4 tsp. pepper
1 (No. 2) can tomatoes

Brown meat in large skillet; stir in onions, pepper, and celery. Add carrots, tomatoes, puree, or ketchup. Mix thoroughly and season with salt and pepper. Simmer 1 hour and serve over cornbread.
