CHEESE BISCUITS 
2 c. flour
3 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
4 tbsp. shortening
3/4 c. milk
1/2 c. cheese (Cheddar), shredded

Sift flour, baking powder and salt together. Cut in shortening and shredded cheese until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Mixes better with the fingers than with a fork. Add milk; stir until dampened. Drop into a greased cookie sheet by heaping teaspoonfuls.

Bake at 450°F for 12 to 15 minutes.

Makes about 16 biscuits.
