EGGLESS JAM CAKE 
4 c. flour
2 c. sugar
1/2 c. shortening
2 c. buttermilk
1 heaping tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. cinnamon
2 tsp. cloves
2 tsp. allspice
2 tsp. nutmeg
1 1/2 to 2 c. blackberry jam

Cream together sugar and shortening; add flour, buttermilk and soda. Combine well. Add spices and jam and stir until mixture is well mixed. Bake in a 350 degree oven for 1 hour.

ICING:

1 box brown sugar
1 stick butter
1 c. Carnation milk
1 tsp. vanilla

Combine sugar, milk and butter; cook to soft ball stage. Add vanilla. Beat together until creamy.
