DUTCH REFRIGERATOR COOKIES | |
1 c. butter 1/2 c. granulated sugar 1/2 c. brown sugar 1 egg 2 1/4 c. sifted, enriched flour 2 tsp. cinnamon 1/4 tsp. nutmeg 1/4 tsp. cloves 1/2 c. finely chopped English walnuts or coconut Cream together butter and sugars. Add egg and beat well. Sift together dry ingredients, stir into creamed mixture. Add nuts or coconut. Shape in rolls about 2 1/2 inches across. Wrap in wax paper. Chill thoroughly. Slice and bake on a slightly greased baking sheet. Bake 1 inch across on baking sheet in a 375 degree oven for 5 to 7 minutes, until delicate brown. Remove from rack at once. Cool. |
