APPLE CRISP 
6 juicy apples
1 c. sugar
2 tsp. lemon juice
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 c. butter
3/4 c. pastry flour
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
Dash of salt

Peel and core apples and cut into pieces. Arrange in a greased glass pie dish or low casserole dish. Pour lemon juice over apples. Blend butter, flour, sugar and spices as for pie crust. Press this mixture over the tops of the apples. Bake in a 375 degree oven for approximately 1 hour. Variation: Reduce sugar to 1/2 cup and add 1/2 cup oatmeal to topping mix.
