15-18 med. apples

Cut flower ends out of apples (Whitney crabs best apples). Boil in water, until not quite done. Drain. Bring to a boil:

1 c. sugar
1 c. water
1 c. vinegar
1 tbsp. mixed pickling spices

Add apples. heat to boiling, pack in hot jars. Cold pack 20 minutes.
