BRAN REFRIGERATOR MUFFINS 
2 c. boiling water
2 c. Bran Flakes
1 1/4 c. shortening (or use butter)
4 eggs (or 8 egg whites)
3 c. sugar (you can use less than 3 c.)
1 qt. buttermilk
5 c. flour
5 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
2 c. chopped figs (or raisins)
4 c. (All Bran) cereal

Pour boiling water over bran flakes; let stand to soften. Cream butter and sugar, beat in eggs or whites. Stir in buttermilk and bran mixture. Stir in flour, soda, salt. Add to buttermilk mixture. Add figs or raisins and cereal. Mix together. Spoon into greased muffin tin. Bake at 400 degrees for 20 minutes.
