TURNIP SLAW 
1/4 c. chopped sweet red pepper
1/4 c. thinly sliced green onions
1/4 c. mayonnaise
1 tbsp. vinegar
2 tbsp. sugar
1/4 tsp. pepper
4 c. shredded peeled turnips

In bowl combine all ingredients except turnips. Pour over turnips and toss well to coat. Refrigerate several hours for flavors to blend. Yield: 4 servings.

Diabetic exchange: 1 serving prepared with light mayonnaise equals 2 vegetable, 1 fat; also 113 calories, 305 mg sodium, 6 m cholesterol, 18 gm carbohydrates, 2 gm protein, 4 gm fat.
