4 c. chicken broth 16 oz. can tomatoes, chopped fine with their juice 2 tsp. tomato paste (optional) 1/2 tsp. thyme 1/2 tsp. basil 1/2 tsp. allspice 2 tsp. lemon juice 2 tbsp. dry sherry or Madeira (optional) 2 tbsp. chives or parsley, chopped fine Place all ingredients, except wine and chives or parsley in saucepan. Simmer 15 minutes. Add wine and garnish with herbs. 6 servings. |
