RICE KRISPIES TREATS 
1/4 c. butter
1 (10 oz.) pkg. regular marshmallows (about 40) or 4 c. miniature marshmallows
6 c. Kellogg's Rice Krispies cereal

Melt butter in large saucepan over low heat. Add marshmallows and stir until completely melted. Remove from heat. Add Rice Krispies cereal. Stir until well coated.

Using buttered spatula or waxed paper, press mixture evenly into buttered 13 x 9 x 2 inch pan. Cut into squares when cool.

Yields 24 squares, 2 x 2 inches.

NOTE: Use fresh marshmallows for best results.

VARIATIONS:

Raisin: Add 1 cup raisins with cereal.

Peanut: Add 1 cup peanuts with cereal.

Peanut Butter: Stir 1/4 cup peanut butter into marshmallow mixture just before adding cereal.

Thicker Squares: Press warm mixture into buttered 9 x 9 x 2 inch pan.

MICROWAVE DIRECTIONS: Microwave butter and marshmallows on full power in large glass mixing bowl for 2 minutes. Stir to combine. Microwave on full power 1 1/2 to 2 minutes longer. Stir until smooth. Add cereal; stir until well coated. Press into pan as directed in 2nd paragraph of directions.

Since microwave ovens vary in power, you may need to adjust your cooking time.
