4 eggs
4 c. brown sugar
1 c. butter & Crisco
2 tsp. cream of tartar
6 1/2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking soda

Mix flour, sugar, shortening, soda and cream of tartar together. Beat eggs last. Make a small roll. Slice 1/4 inch thick. Bake in a moderate oven at about 350 degrees until brown. Nuts or raisins may be added to the cookie batter.
