PECAN PIE SURPRISE BARS 
1 pkg. yellow cake mix
1/2 c. butter, melted
1 egg
1 c. chopped pecans

FILLING:

2/3 c. reserved cake mix
1/2 c. firmly packed brown sugar
1 1/2 c. dark corn syrup
1 tsp. vanilla
3 eggs

Grease bottom and sides of 13"x9" pan. Reserve 2/3 cup dry cake mix for filling. In large mixing bowl, combine remaining dry cake mix, butter and 1 egg; mix until crumbly. Press in prepared pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 to 20 minutes until light golden brown. Meanwhile, prepare filling. Pour filling over partially baked crust; sprinkle with pecans. Return to oven and bake for 30 to 35 minutes until filling is set. Cool; cut into 36 bars.

FILLING: In large mixing bowl, combine all ingredients; beat at medium speed 1 to 2 minutes.
