MEAT BALL STEW 
1 lb. ground beef
1/4 c. fine dry bread crumbs
1/4 c. finely chopped onion
1 egg, beaten
1 tsp. salt
1 1/2 c. V-8
1 c. thin sliced carrots
1 tbsp. sugar
1/8 tsp. basil
1 (16 oz.) can sm. whole potatoes

Combine first five ingredients. Shape into 16 balls. Brown in fry pan. Pour off fat if there is any. Add next four ingredients. Cover. Cook over low heat 15 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add potatoes cut in small pieces. Add and cook 5 minutes more. Combine 2 tablespoons flour and 1/2 cup V-8. Stir into stew until thickened. Serves 4-5.
